If you need to mute yourself on Zoom, then follow these steps.

  1. Open the Zoom app on your Windows PC.
  2. Now move the cursor until you see the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. If you want to mute yourself, then click on the “Mute” microphone button in the bottom left corner of the toolbar. Now, the Mute icon will be changed to a crossed-out microphone. The text appear will be changed from “Mute” to “Unmute”. Now the participants in the meeting will no longer be able to hear you.

  4. If you want to unmute yourself, then click on the “Unmute” crossed-out microphone button in the bottom left corner of the toolbar. The “Unmute” icon will change to a microphone. The text appear will be changed from “Unmute” to “Mute”. Now the participants in the meeting will be able to hear your voice again.

How to Mute Others on Zoom

If you are a host and need to Mute a particular participant in the meeting, then you can Mute Others on Zoom by hover over to that participant in the Zoom window and click on the blue “Mute” button.

You can also do this as follows,

  1. Click on the “Participants” icon that appears in the toolbar at the bottom. You can also use the Keyboard shortcuts Alt + U to perform the same action.

  2. Now you will see a sidebar with each participant in the Zoom meeting.
  3. Now hover over to that participant that you need to mute in the Zoom meeting. Click on the blue “Mute” button to mute this participant.

  4. You can follow the same steps to unmute as well. But here when you press the “Ask to unmute” button, then a popup message will be shown to the participant mentioning that “The host would like you to unmute”.

    At that time, the participant can stay muted or unmute himself.

To mute everyone on Zoom meeting, follow these steps.
